Job summary

Alpha Health Services is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community and in-home settings. You will follow the participant's ISP, provide transportation, promote independence, and document progress while building a trusted, caring relationship.

The role emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a DSP or direct care role is required.
• Valid PA drivers license, active auto insurance, and reliable vehicle.
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Ability to support clients in daily living activities while promoting independence.
• Pass PA ODP background checks and clearances preferred (and required).

Responsibilities

• Transport participant to activities/appointments per ISP goals.
• Provide personal care with dignity and respect.
• Support community participation and social inclusion.
• Monitor health/behavior and report changes to supervisor.
• Document participant progress and behavior accurately.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to needs.
• Assist with meal preparation and dietary needs.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with care team and family members.
• Complete PA ODP training and maintain certifications.
