Job summary

Achieva is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide direct care and personalized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings. This role ensures health, safety, and welfare while promoting independence and community engagement.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, transporting individuals to activities, and supporting personal goals. A PA driver’s license and vehicle are required, with training provided for medication

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within six months of start date.
• Must pass Medication Administration training within two months of start date.
• Satisfactory Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearance required.
• Must have a valid PA Driver’s License and a vehicle for daily use.

Responsibilities

• Advocates with people we support to help achieve their vision of a good life.
• Identifies, documents, and shares concerns and successes as appropriate.
• Transport and accompany people to activities, appointments, and events.
• Assist with personal care tasks as needed (bathing, dressing, hygiene).
• Support activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Assist with money management to promote independence.
• Administer medications per training and protocol.
• Accompany to medical appointments and ensure required documentation.
