Job summary

SilverRide is seeking reliable independent contractor drivers in Sacramento to provide door-through-door transportation for older adults to medical appointments and social activities. You will work as part of our driver network, delivering compassionate service while meeting credentialing and safety requirements.

Responsibilities include assisting riders, maintaining a clean vehicle, and complying with state and federal tests and background checks.

Qualifications

• Age 21 or older.
• Valid U.S. driver�s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record; driving record check prior to joining; no DUI/DWI; no moving violations in past year; no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years.
• Pass Federal Transit Authority and state drug and alcohol tests prior to employment and agree to random testing while active in SilverRide’s driver network.
• Willingness to be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background check.
• No felonies or charges involving violence.
• Not on the National Sex Offender Registry.
• Meet SilverRide’s credentialing requirements related to senior condition, ADA, physical transfers, safety and more.
• Drivers must agree to take passengers with service animals.
• 4-door sedan or low SUV that is 2014 or newer with 5 to 8 passenger seats including driver.
• Current, valid vehicle registration.
• Proof of insurance in your name.
• Your vehicle will have to pass an inspection as required by your state.
• Vehicles need to be clean and not have any smell of smoke or drugs (marijuana).

Responsibilities

• Provide door-through-door transportation for older adults to medical appointments and social activities.
• Assist riders with boarding and alighting and ensure passenger safety.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and comply with credentialing and safety requirements.
