Job summary

The Whole Child LLC in Reno, NV is seeking a Direct Support Staff member to provide compassionate, person-centered care to individuals with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities.
• Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility.
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately.
• Facilitate community integration and accompany clients to appointments and activities.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members.
• Promote client independence, dignity, and self-determination at all times.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral support needs and crisis situations.
