Job summary

Passionate Hearts Supportive Services in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to provide personalized care to individuals with disabilities. You will assist with ADLs, implement ISP plans, transport clients, and document progress while fostering independence and dignity in every client served. Strong communication with families and care teams is essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and person-centered approach.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with IDD.
Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and other ADLs.
Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately.
Transport and accompany clients to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities.
Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed.
Foster independence, dignity, and self-advocacy in all individuals served.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members.
