Qualifications

• Some training and experience in food preparation and sanitation is desirable.
• Must know proper cooking temperatures for meats and other foods.
• Completion of elementary education or ability to read, write and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food per planned menus and established portion control procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe department and storage areas, and ensure equipment and supplies are well maintained.
• Review diet changes and coordinate dietary services with nursing services.
• Review menus before preparation and inspect trays for accuracy of menu and diet preferences.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods, supplies, and equipment.
