Job summary

Edgewood Assisted Living Center is seeking a Culinary Support team member to provide quality dining experiences for residents across three meals daily. This role supports nutritional needs and snacks around a 24-hour day, with attention to safety, sanitation, and proper food handling.

Responsibilities include meal prep, serving, assisting residents with dementia considerations, and ensuring clean, well-labeled storage.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, cooking and serving.
• Ability to work safely with residents with reduced cognitive functioning.
• Understanding of considerations for persons with dementia.

Responsibilities

• ALL MEALS: prepare dining area, clear and clean tables, maintain sanitation standards, label and store opened foods.
• BREAKFAST: prepare and serve made-to-order breakfast, provide beverages and hot drinks.
• DINNER: transport items to dining area, plate meals, offer seconds and beverages, serve dessert when appropriate.
• SUPPER: prepare sandwiches, dish up soup for the dining room.
• SNACKS: assist residents in preparing snacks such as fruit, cookies, cheese and crackers.
• OTHER: clean and refresh kitchen and dining area after every meal, label foods, check temperatures and seal storage.
• CODE OF CONDUCT: maintain professional behavior, practice safe food handling, communicate professionally.
