Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution.
• Food handlers’ card or local food safety certification.
• Fundamental sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene knowledge.
• Ability to communicate tactfully with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard menus and recipes and dietary regulations.
• Prepare and portion meals according to production worksheets.
• Supervise serving of meals by wait staff.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food and supplies.
• Maintain fire and safety practices and procedures.
• Close the kitchen at shift end per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Administrator/Director of Nurses when NSM is absent.
