Job summary

West Suburban Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced Cook to join our TEAM, preparing meals for residents in a supportive, elder-care setting.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a high school education or equivalent.
• Sanitation certificate is required.
• One year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred (but not necessary).
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner according to dietary restrictions.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen.
• Demonstrate empathy and provide care to residents with limited self-care capacity.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanour.
• Communicate effectively with team and residents.
