Job summary

Altamaha Health Center is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to support short term rehabilitation and long-term care services. Under supervision, CNAs use nursing principles and basic assessment skills to implement individualized care plans and ensure patient comfort and needs are met.

The role involves assisting with admissions/discharges, hygiene, feeding, attending to daily living activities, and coordinating with therapists to ensure timely therapy sessions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma is preferred for this position.
• It is mandatory that the candidate can read, write and understand the English language.
• In addition, a Certified Nurse Aide is required to attend a minimum of 18 hours Continuing Education programs provided by the Center in order to maintain Certification.
• Finally, a Certified Nurse Aide must have successfully completed a State approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in accordance with established methods and techniques and in conformance with recognized standards.
• Provides maximum customer care services within limits defined by delegated tasks.
• Assists the nurse with admission, discharge and transfer of customers and with treatments and personal care.
• Bathes customers, performs grooming and basic hygiene tasks.
• Positions customers in correct body alignment and applies safety measures under supervision.
