Job summary

Duke HomeCare & Hospice is seeking a Nursing Assistant I (CNA I) for home health in Durham, North Carolina. This on-site, regular position supports RN/LPN in direct patient care within patients\' homes, with duties covering routine tasks, documentation, and safety practices.

The candidate should have a Nursing Assistant I certification (NC DHHS) and BCLS, with preferred one year of CNA I experience. A current driver\'s license is required.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant I certification must be current and listed with NC DHHS.
• BCLS certification must be current by the end of new hire orientation.
• Current and active driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
• Obtain and record patient data for medical records, informing RN/LPN of information collected.
• Administer basic personal care including feeding, bathing, grooming, changing clothes, mobility and hygiene; assist as needed.
• Assist providers and nurses with physical examinations by positioning patients and changing dressings.
• Take and record vital signs, document intake/output, and report changes in patient condition.
