Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join the care team on the MedSurg floor. You’ll work alongside registered nurses to ensure patients are safe, comfortable, and well cared for during their hospital stay.

This role focuses on direct patient care, hygiene assistance, mobility support, and efficient setup of linens, meals, and transport to tests, with temperature and vital signs recorded as directed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety at all times.
• Change bed linens and keep patient space clean and organized.
• Transport patients to tests and procedures.
• Serve and collect meal trays and provide between‑meal nourishment.
• Record temperature and vital signs as directed by nursing staff.
• Support the nursing team with a variety of patient care activities.
