Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide clinical and administrative support across our hospitals and clinics. The CMA will take patient histories, prepare for examinations, assist physicians, and handle specimen collection and basic lab tasks.

Qualified candidates will have active CMA certification, current BLS or be able to obtain within 30 days, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Active Registry or Certification as a Medical Assistant from a recognized certifying body.
• Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Taking patient histories and vital signs.
• Preparing patients for examination.
• Assisting physicians during exams and procedures.
• Collecting and processing laboratory specimens.
• Administering medications as directed by the physician.
• Performing basic laboratory tests.
• Instructing patients about medications and special diets.
• Removing sutures and changing dressings.
