Job summary

Prisma Health seeks a Medical Assistant for the Orthopedics Spine practice in Lexington, SC. You will support physicians with exams, administer basic procedures, and handle routine patient care and clerical tasks under supervision.

The role requires completion of an accredited medical assisting program and CMA/other certs per state guidelines. Day shift, non-management, no prior experience required. Prisma Health emphasizes compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Medical assistant program or equivalent required.
• Certification in CMA (AAMA) or RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, or ARMA preferred.
• Military or employer-led training accepted if aligned with national cert exam.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and related administrative duties under supervision.
• Prepare patients for examination; record vitals, chief complaints, meds, allergies.
• Assist physician with examinations and procedures and support in emergencies.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as ordered after demonstrated competency.
• Complete insurance forms, scheduling, registrations and billing tasks; coordinate referrals.
