Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. seeks a dedicated Clinical Assistant to support nursing staff on the unit. You will transcribe orders, assemble medical records, and monitor intake, outputs, and vital signs, while assisting with phlebotomy, EKGs and basic patient care tasks.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, plus a Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant or EMT program. BLS certification is required; LPNs may apply. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT program preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification required.
  • LPNs may apply; applicable state license or enrollment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribes and communicates physician orders accurately.
  • Assembles and maintains patient medical records in order.
  • Collects intake/output, vitals, and basic patient measurements.
  • Performs phlebotomy, EKG lead placement and point-of-care testing.
  • Documents patient care, hygiene, mobility and comfort needs.
  • Transports specimens and coordinates with nursing staff.
