Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant in Seattle to provide compassionate, hands-on patient care and assist with activities of daily living.

You will monitor vital signs, perform bedside glucose testing, and support respiratory care while helping patients with mobility and maintaining a clean, safe environment. A strong focus on safety, observation, and communication is essential in this clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant (or military medical specialty training) program OR Licensed Practical Nursing program required.
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (or active NA-R and proof of passing the WA NA-C exam) or LPN with the Washington State Nursing Commission.
• Current healthcare provider American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic skills in using a PC required. Demonstrated experience as a nursing assistant required.
• Must be able to lift, move or assist patients using proper body mechanics. The ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs. and pull up to 100 lbs. is also required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, feeding and maintaining hygiene.
• Monitor vital signs and conduct bedside blood glucose testing.
• Perform specialized respiratory care including incentive spirometry, oxygen saturation checks and nebulizer maintenance.
• Assist with ambulation, positioning and transfers to support patient mobility.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment including light housekeeping and laundry duties.
