Job summary

A First Name Basis is a growing in-home care provider serving Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and South Carolina. We hire caregivers to support seniors and individuals with disabilities in their homes, focusing on compassionate, respectful, and high-quality care.

The caregiver role includes personal care, companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, and travel to client homes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid ID, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to client homes.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings: background check and drug screen.
• Willingness to complete competency and skills assessments.
• Ability to work independently in home settings.
• Willingness to complete onboarding requirements.
• Kind heart and a positive attitude, with compassion, patience, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care support (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting).
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Light housekeeping and meal prep; assist with feeding.
• Medication reminders; accompany clients to appointments.
• Monitor and report changes in client health.
• Travel to patient homes and assigned visits.
• Complete required in-services on hire and annually.
• Document care provided per standards.
