Job summary

United Methodist Communities is seeking a Companion in Northern New Jersey to provide supportive companionship and light housekeeping under the HomeWorks division. Per diem shifts offer flexible scheduling with days, evenings, and nights available, and pay ranges from $16 to $20 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities include escorting clients to appointments, meal preparation, assisting with activities, and reporting any changes to the nursing team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• Age 18 years or older (required).
• Ability to work independently and provide compassionate care.
• Reliable transportation (required).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Escort clients to appointments, shopping trips, errands, social outings, and faith-based gatherings.
• Provide clean and supportive environment through light housekeeping.
• Engage in activities to foster social interaction and companionship.
• Plan, prepare, and share meals to encourage social connection.
• Follow care plans developed by our nursing team and report any changes or safety concerns.
