Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Care Assistant for Winchester Heights Care Home in Winchester, Hampshire. The role focuses on delivering high standards of personal care within a supportive care team, upholding residents' dignity and independence.

Full induction and training are provided. A DBS disclosure check will be required and costs are met by Avery Healthcare. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK is also required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and others in the home.
• Be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents in personal hygiene care to maintain independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognising clinical risk areas (weight loss, pressure sores, falls, infections) and escalating risks promptly.
• Acting courteously towards residents and visitors, upholding dignity and individuality.
• Practising safe systems of work across tasks.
