Job summary

Humane Society for Southwest Washington is hiring an Animal Care & Transport Specialist. The role combines hands-on animal care with transportation logistics across HSSW locations, veterinary partners, and foster homes.

The position requires compassion, strong judgment, physical stamina, and clear communication. Work includes 50–70% animal care and 30–50% transportation, with an hourly pay range of $20.85–$25.24 and full-time benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily animal care including feeding, water, health and behavior monitoring, and sanitation of habitats.
• Safely transport live animals between locations using company vehicles and ensure proper loading and documentation.
• Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain clean, safe transportation equipment.
• Complete records accurately and communicate updates to staff and leadership in a timely manner.
• Follow all safety, welfare, and transportation policies and protect confidential information.
