Job summary

Altasciences is seeking an Animal Care Technician to coordinate and maintain facility equipment and supplies, providing basic husbandry and welfare for animals. The role involves sanitation, cage work, and daily data integrity under GLP and regulatory guidelines.

You will join a team focused on precision, safety, and animal welfare, with on-going training and opportunities for growth. The position supports a rotating schedule including weekends and evenings where needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; BS/BA in a scientific discipline preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience; animal handling experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office and able to learn new software quickly.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work cross-functionally.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Complete training on core skills for the area.
• Follow SOPs, GLP, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle and restrain animals, with empathy.
• Perform animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning.
• Operate cage washers and other equipment.
• Participate in weekend/evening rotations.
