Job summary

Aurora Medical Group, part of Advocate Health, is seeking Medical Assistants or Licensed Practical Nurses to support ambulatory care teams. You will welcome patients, collect histories, take vital signs, and prepare for exams.

This role includes ensuring patient safety, administering vaccines as directed, performing lab tasks, documenting in the electronic health record, and collaborating with physicians and staff to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Qualifications

• LPN license and BLS certification required or must be obtained within 45 days.
• MA certification or equivalent experience required; BLS required within 45 days.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Education

GED or HS Equivalency Diploma

LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing

MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years
