Job summary

Learn Academy, a national leader in special education, is seeking a Behavior Interventionist to support students with disabilities using ABA in a structured classroom setting. The role emphasizes data collection, collaboration with certified staff, and applying de-escalation and safety techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience working with children with moderate to severe disabilities in a special needs educational setting, including experience with toileting.
• Ability to collaborate and receive feedback, mentoring, and direction from peers and supervisors.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining a professional and clinical perspective, including handling challenging student behaviors without becoming emotionally overwhelmed.
• Demonstrated experience using crisis management interventions (including therapeutic holds) safely.

Responsibilities

• Work with students with moderate to severe special needs in a FACSS classroom.
• Use ABA therapy to provide direct instructional support to individuals or groups.
• Provide structured support in social-emotional, adaptive behavior, social-skill, and life skill development, including toileting.
• Collect data on student progress as directed by teaching and clinical teams.
• Reinforce academic behaviors taught by certified staff and provide practice opportunities.
• Assist students in community, school, and leisure activities under direction of certified staff.
• Implement district-approved verbal de-escalation techniques and safe physical restraint; training provided.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building administration and staff.
