ARISE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE INC is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional to assist a 53-year-old individual in Syracuse, NY. You will support participation in community life, accompany visits to the grocery store and library, and help with mood management in a friendly home and community setting.

This part-time role offers afternoon hours (Mon, Wed, Fri 11–3pm) with potential for additional hours across other clients; travel to preferred activities is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
• Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
• No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.

Responsibilities

• Support a 53-year-old individual in Syracuse, NY, participating in community life.
• Assist with grocery shopping and library visits to access computers, books, and DVDs.
• Be patient, engaging, and willing to travel to preferred places; manage mood swings.
• Part-time role with potential for additional hours with other clients.
• Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11–3pm.
