Job summary

CAMBA runs after-school and summer programs in New York City, serving thousands of youth with diverse activities from arts to sports. The Activity Specialist/Instructors will design and implement engaging lesson plans and support at-risk youth in nonacademic activities across COMPASS program sites.

The role requires at least three years of professional experience in the specialization and the ability to obtain health and background clearances such as SCR, DOH, and DOE fingerprints.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth.
• TB test and health health certificate required.
• SCR clearance, DOH fingerprint clearance, and DOE fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop and execute fun, engaging lesson plans in activity areas (dance, vocal, creative movement, yoga, sports, visual arts).
• Provide group and/or individual assistance to at-risk children and/or youth in nonacademic activities.
• Maintain required health and background clearances as part of program requirements.

Programs operate during the school year, in the summer, and on most school holidays.
