Job summary

Pfizer is seeking an Operations Team Lead in the United States to supervise vivarium staff, ensure animal welfare, and align resources with R&D priorities. You will enforce regulatory compliance and lead a team of non-exempt staff at the site.

Key responsibilities include mentoring staff, coordinating with researchers, and optimizing operations, scheduling, and exposure to AAALAC guidelines. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA with 3 to 4 years' experience OR MA/MBA/MS with 1 to 2 years' experience required
  • AALAS certification required
  • LATG certification preferred
  • Supervisory experience in a pharmaceutical setting

  • Manage and engage animal care and technical staff on site with clear performance expectations.
  • Assist in hiring, mentoring, training and developing a diverse staff.

  • Support management of physical resources with duties related to supply, inventory and invoicing reconciliation.

What You Will Achieve

As part of the Comparative Medicine team, you will support vivarium operations by managing an assigned portion of the vivarium and processes and delivering flawless animal care and welfare. You will be a first line manager of non-exempt staff located at the site and work with the management team to assure the quality of care and the animal facility environment and operational processes are in compliance with local and federal regulations and AAALAC International guidance as well as provide support to the Associate Director of

Operations to help ensure resources are aligned with Research and Development prioritization.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Assure that the care and welfare of laboratory animals is maintained in compliance with or exceeding local, state, and federal regulations and AAALAC International guidelines
  • Manage and engage animal care and technical staff at the site ensuring clear expectations of performance and adherence to established policies and procedures
  • Assist in the hiring, mentoring, training and development of a diverse population of colleagues
  • Act as an interface with the research community and ensure basic husbandry to complex specialty technical services is provided, including back up scheduling activities in Office Tracker
  • Support effective management of physical resources along with operations management with responsibilities relating to supply order, inventory and/or invoice reconciliation
  • Identify methods and procedures that have potential to increase staff safety, workflow, and operational efficiency

May be required to work under one of the following: The United States Department of Agriculture Animal Welfare Act and associated Regulations and Standards, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, Good Laboratory Practices, Public Health Service Policy and/or AAALAC accreditation standards.

Qualifications
Must-Have

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $88,500.00 to $147,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
