Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is hiring a Company A Driver, Low Boy to operate a Lowboy Truck and Tandem, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of prep product to the customer sites. A sign-on bonus is included.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain logs, load/unload equipment, and coordinate with dispatch while delivering on asphalt and construction projects. This role offers growth opportunities within a growing company.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.
  • DOT medical card current.
  • Minimum of one year of related driving/contracting experience.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent driving skills; equipment operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Drives truck trailer to transport heavy equipment used by the contracting division for asphalt and construction projects in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
  • Loads and unloads equipment.
  • Ensures equipment is securely fastened to trailer; communicates truck/job status to dispatch.
  • Conducts pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operations of trucks.
  • Keeps a driver’s log for DOT.
  • Maintains truck appearance and checks fluid levels; performs minor repairs as needed.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by management.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers and provides excellent customer service.
  • Maintains good public relations with customers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Operates a Lowboy Truck, and Tandem. Ensures the safe and timely delivery of prep product to the customer at the proper temperature and to the proper job site. Returns to assigned plant in a timely manner for additional loads.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Drives truck trailer to transport various heavy equipment used by the contracting division for asphalt and construction projects in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
  • Loads and unloads equipment.
  • Makes sure equipment is securely fastened to trailer. Communicates truck/job status to dispatch.
  • Responsible for conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operations of trucks.
  • Keeps a driver’s log for DOT.
  • Maintains appearance of truck, keeps proper air pressure in tires, checks fluid levels including oil, hydraulic, coolant and fuel. Performs minor repairs to truck as needed.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by management.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers and provides excellent customer service.
  • Maintains good public relations with customers.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Licenses Required: Valid Class A CDL, (tanker endorsement preferred), DOT physical card and current, clean MVR Must have good directional knowledge and be able to navigate from point to point in a safe manner
  • Required Education: High School diploma/GED
  • Required Work Experience: Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Prior experience working in contracting, constructions materials or transporting equipment.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent driving skills.
  • Equipment Operator experience preferred
Additional Requirements

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
