Job summary

Visiting Angels Columbus, GA is seeking a compassionate Companion Caregiver to assist seniors at home in Columbus and surrounding areas. You will provide light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility support, transportation, and companionship, helping clients maintain independence.

Training is available in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, and you’ll join a team dedicated to dignified, respectful care for families. Full-time and part-time hours may be available.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
