Job summary

Visiting Angels Lufkin, TX is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support clients across Deep East Texas, including Lufkin, Huntington, Diboll, and Nacogdoches. You will provide personal care, light housekeeping, meal planning, medication reminders, and mobility assistance in clients' homes, helping them stay independent with dignity.

We offer hourly pay of $11.00–$13.00, plus health, dental, and vision Insurance, holiday pay, referral bonuses, direct deposit, weekly pay, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent time-management skills are essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are needed.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks is expected.
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Manage light housekeeping tasks.
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
• Remind clients to take medications on time.
• Assist with shopping and putting away groceries or shopping for them.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients based on abilities.
• Assist with mobility and accompany clients to appointments or outings.

A Visiting Angels Companion Caregiver wears many hats as they help our elderly and home-care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity.

While no two client visits look exactly alike, responsibilities may include:

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks

A Companion Caregiver must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. This includes adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances. Our caregivers possess the ideal blend of competency, compassion, and professional discernment.

Companion Caregiver Job Requirements
