Job summary

Gentle Home Care in Gainesville, FL is seeking a caring and dependable Caregiver to provide support and companionship to a client in their home and throughout the community. The role includes assisting with meals, budgeting, attending medical appointments, shopping, and accompanying to activities; you will promote independence while ensuring safe transportation using your own vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must pass a Level 2 background screening.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
• Valid car insurance.
• Ability to work independently and follow the client’s individualized needs and schedule.
• Previous caregiving, companion care, or direct support experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal planning.
• Provide support with budgeting.
• Accompany and assist the client with medical appointments, including transportation as needed.
• Assist with grocery shopping and other necessary errands.
• Accompany the client to community activities, appointments, social events, and recreational activities.
• Provide companionship and encouragement while promoting the client’s independence and participation in the community.
• Provide transportation for the client using the caregiver’s personal vehicle.
