Job summary

hcaoa-careers is seeking caregivers who are eager to learn and grow in the senior care industry. Our Companion Caregivers provide compassionate, reliable, and honest support, combining companionship with essential personal care tasks to enhance client well-being.

Responsibilities include helping with daily routines, mobility support, meals, medication reminders, and safe transport to appointments while maintaining dignity and respect for every client.

Qualifications

• Must treat clients with dignity and respect.
• Able to interpret the client’s plan of care.
• Need to be flexible and adaptable to new situations.
• Tolerant of small pets (dogs/cats).
• Must be reachable by phone or email for shifts and updates.
• Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Prior dementia/senior care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation to clients.
• Assist with personal care tasks (bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom, feeding).
• Perform light housekeeping (laundry, linen changing).
• Assist with dressing and laying out clothes.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Provide transportation to appointments.
• Help family learn safe care techniques.

We are looking for caregivers that are interested in learning and growing their skills within the senior care industry. Our Companion Caregivers are not only reliable, dependable and honest, but also compassionate and caring.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing companionship and conversation
• Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom needs, and feeding
• Performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and linen changing
• Laying out clothes and assisting with dressing
• Planning and preparing meals
• Providing medication reminders
• Providing transportation to and from appointments
• Helping family members learn safe care techniques

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
• Ability to interpret the client’s provided plan of care
• Valid driver’s license and transportation
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations
• Tolerance to small pets (i.e. dogs and/or cats)
• Must be able to be reached via phone or email for shift schedules, client updates and/or emergencies
• Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
• Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care, a plus!
