Textron in the Williamsport area seeks a Comp/Electronic Mach Operator to set up and operate computer- or electronic-controlled machines, reading blueprints and using precision tools to produce parts to specification.
The role involves reviewing readouts, adjusting tooling, maintaining equipment, and documenting procedures while following safety and quality standards. A high school diploma or GED and hands-on machining exposure are preferred, with a detail-oriented, safety-conscious mindset.
Set-up and operate computer and/or electronic controlled machines. Work from operation sheets, specifications, blue prints, manuals, etc. Use shop mathematics, handbook formulas and a variety of precision instruments and a working knowledge of the cutting qualities of material, machine feeds and speeds to perform necessary functions to operate machine i.e. load, locate and align part in fixture. Install specified numerical control tape at designated position in tape reader place all console on operation station switches, selectors and controls in proper sequence and various operations necessary to complete machine operations. Must determine cause of malfunction and make necessary adjustments. Review Cordax readouts, assist Tool Design, as needed, in new fixture, program readouts, and setup during the period of operation for required quality of parts. Maintain the set-up during the period of operation and correct tooling faults and tryout set-ups.
