Job summary

1199SEIU Benefit and Pension Funds is seeking a Registered Nurse to monitor and educate members about health conditions while promoting healthier lifestyles.

The role involves administering vaccines, conducting tests, and participating in health fairs and outreach events. A valid NYS RN license is required along with at least two years of nursing experience. Flexibility with hours, including evenings, is necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years nursing experience in ambulatory care, community health care or medical/surgical required.
• Must have strong experience in clinical assessment, patient education, motivational interviewing, critical thinking, and independent decision-making.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Screen, monitor, and educate members regarding acute and chronic conditions.
• Administer tests for diseases and monitor progress through various measurements.
• Participate in seasonal vaccination and other types of testing as needed.
• Educate members regarding acute and chronic conditions and healthier lifestyles.
• Administer vaccines and counsel members on Health Benefits.
