Job summary

Volunteers of America–Greater New York seeks a Driver to operate agency vehicles and support client services in Bronx, NY. The role requires delivering clients and transporting to appointments, while ensuring safety and completing daily logs and route sheets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus two years’ experience as a driver.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets agency standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles in a safe and prudent manner, arriving at destinations via the most efficient route.
• Transport clients to and from agency designated “hot spots”.
• Check vehicles on a daily basis to ensure that they are in acceptable operating condition. Maintain gas at one-half full and fill tank at end of day.
• Complete required paperwork including daily logs and route sheets.
• Assist in provision of direct care services and administrative support to program when not engaged in driving duties.
