Job summary

Universal MH/DD/SAS is seeking a part-time Community Support Technician to provide one-on-one support in home and community settings for individuals with disabilities.

The role focuses on building independence, meaningful activities, and personal goals in a safe, respectful, and person-centered manner.

Qualifications

About the Position

Universal MH/DD/SAS is hiring a dependable and compassionate Community Support Technician to provide one-on-one Community Living and Supports services and Community Networking services for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There are several positions currently. This role helps the person supported build independence, participate in meaningful activities, and work toward personal goals in a safe, respectful, and person-centered manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support in home and community-based settings.


• Assist with daily living needs while promoting dignity, choice, safety, and independence.


• Teach, model, and reinforce habilitative and independent-living skills based on the person's goals and service plan.


• Support participation in meaningful community activities and social opportunities.


• Document services accurately and in accordance with agency requirements.


• Communicate professionally with the person supported, family members, supervisors, and the support team, as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Valid driver's license


• Reliable transportation


• Ability to provide compassionate, dependable, and person-centered support


• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required
