Job summary

Universal Mental Health Services is seeking a dependable Community Support Technician to provide one-on-one supports for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.

This part-time role offers flexible hours (28 hours per week, three days per week, Monday–Thursday) with in-person, community-based work and opportunities to help the person supported achieve personal goals.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support in home and community settings.
• Assist with daily living tasks while promoting dignity and independence.
• Teach and reinforce habilitative and independent-living skills per care plan.
• Support participation in community activities and social opportunities.
• Document services accurately per agency requirements.
• Communicate professionally with the person supported, family, and team.

About the Position

Universal MH/DD/SAS is hiring a dependable and compassionate Community Support Technician to provide one-on-one Community Living and Supports services for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role helps the person supported build independence, participate in meaningful activities, and work toward personal goals in a safe, respectful, and person-centered manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support in home and community-based settings.
• Assist with daily living needs while promoting dignity, choice, safety, and independence.
• Teach, model, and reinforce habilitative and independent-living skills based on the person's goals and service plan.
• Support participation in meaningful community activities and social opportunities.
• Document services accurately and in accordance with agency requirements.
• Communicate professionally with the person supported, family members, supervisors, and the support team, as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to provide compassionate, dependable, and person-centered support
• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required
