Job summary

CADES is seeking a Community Support Professional (CSP) to assist adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in our Adult Day Centers and community programs across Delaware County, including Newtown Square, Aston, and Swarthmore. You will implement support plans and provide personal care to enhance independence and self-worth.

Paid training is provided; the schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 3:45pm, with locations in Aston, Newtown Square, and Swarthmore.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current valid drivers license with three years driving history.
• One year experience working with individuals with multiple disabilities.
• Ability to assist individuals in caring for all personal needs including feeding, toileting, and dressing.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities including personal care, dressing, toileting, hygiene and feeding.
• Support independence while encouraging personal growth and active programming.
• Lead and participate in recreational activities, life skills training and community outings.
• Transport individuals safely to activities, appointments, and community outings.
• Document daily activities and services provided; ensure safety and compliance with CADES policies.

Position Description

As a Community Support Professional (CSP), you'll support adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in both our Adult Day Centers and throughout the community. You will work directly with our team members to implement support plans for adults who have intellectual and/or physical disabilities. CSP's provide personal care, assistance, and guidance to enhance independence and self-worth for the individuals we serve.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities including personal care, dressing, toileting, hygiene and feeding
• Support independence while encouraging personal growth and confidence. Ensure Active programming that best meets the interest and needs of the individuals served.
• Lead and participate in recreational activities, life skills training and community outings
• Transport individuals safely to activities, appointments, and community outings.
• Implement programming within the guidelines of CADES training and regulatory standards including personal care, individual support plans (ISP) and Behavior Support Plan (BSP) outcomes.
• Document daily activities and services provided
• Build positive relationships through patience, encouragement and respect
• Help create a safe, positive and engaging environment every day
• Ensure service delivery aligns with the mission, vision, and regulatory requirements that position CADES to be a role model in the delivery of adult day services to individuals with multiple disabilities and abilities.
• Comply with CADES policies and procedures, state regulations, as well as the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) best practice.
• Comply with all training and certification requirements to ensure program meets all programmatic, health care, supervision and dietary needs of all individuals and ensure safety in both facility and community settings.
• Demonstrate effective communication with all stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current valid drivers license with three (3) years acceptable driving history.
• One year experience working with individuals with multiple disabilities, including complex cognitive, medical and physical disabilities.
• Ability to instruct and assist individuals in caring for all personal needs to include feeding, toileting, and dressing.
• Strong communication skills
• Basic computer skills

This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including the ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds, bend, twist, and turn.
