Job summary

Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education seeks a Community Support Associate (CSA) to help Medicaid-eligible clients live with maximum independence in the community. The CSA provides skills training, cueing, supervision, and medication adherence support as part of the client’s treatment plan.

Responsibilities

  • Completes documentation within Medicaid timeframes (treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, intake paperwork)
  • Provides intervention services and consults with treatment team to assess needs and support level
  • Attends bi-weekly supervision with clinical director and follows through on directives
  • Maintains client confidentiality in all settings
  • Follows safety guidelines and reporting abuse policies
  • Maintains reliable attendance and punctuality to provide quality patient care
  • Adheres to Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job description

A Community Support Associate (CSA) provides assigned Medicaid eligible clients the services necessary to allow them to live with maximum independence in the community. The CSA provides intervention in the form of skills training, cueing, or supervision in the client’s treatment plan; medication adherence and recognizing symptoms and side effects; non-clinical but therapeutic behavioral intervention, support, and skills training; assistance in accessing and utilizing community resources; emotional regulation skills; and developing and enhancing interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completes documentation accurately, within the Medicaid mandated time frames including treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and intake paperwork.
  • Provides intervention services to identified participants and consults with the treatment team to identify the needs and level of support for the client.
  • Attends bi-weekly supervision with clinical director; utilizing case review feedback and following through with instruction/directive provided.
  • Always maintains confidentiality of client information, including during community-based activities in which services are provided.
  • Follows all safety guidelines with clients, including reporting abuse policies.
  • Adhere to time and attendance policies and maintain a record, in good standing, of regular and reliable attendance and punctuality, in order to provide quality and consistent patient care
  • Adhere to Cultivate Behavioral Management Corp policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma, GED, or qualifying documentation from a comparable educational entity
  • One (1) year of full-time experience working with individuals who receive services for treatment of a mental health disorder or co-occurring disorder
  • Successfully complete within six (6) months of hire the department-led or approved training program described in Kentucky State Regulations 908 KAR 2:250. CSA
  • Complete six (6) hours of training or education related to the specification of: 1. Principles of recovery and resilience, 2. Principles of psychiatric rehabilitation, 3. Effective listening and communication skills, 4. Diagnosis and medication management of mental health disorders or co-occurring disorders, and 5. Crisis coping skills.
