Job summary

The Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) seeks a Community Supervision Officer Assistant to guide individuals navigating supervision, answer inquiries, and connect them to resources. This role may include home visits when assigned and travel across the Houston Metroplex.

Based in Houston, the position supports Community Supervision Officers, assists with casework, ensures compliance with court orders, and helps maintain accurate CMS records.

Qualifications

• Two years of higher education or two years of substantive work in criminal justice.
• Must demonstrate experience in application of case management principals.
• Must have valid Texas Driver's License or eligibility to operate a vehicle in the US.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and assist with check-in and inquiries, including home visits (if applicable).
• Operate internal computer systems to manage client intake, scheduling and CMS review.
• Address routine client concerns when officers are unavailable, including coordinating field visits.
• Perform casework that does not require CSO certification, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Identify complex client issues and route to appropriate staff for resolution.
• Maintain discretion with sensitive information and ensure compliance with orders and programs.
• Testify in court when required with clear, accurate accounts of procedures followed.
• Review and update records in CMS and Program Database.
• Work additional time as needed to support departmental needs.
