South Bronx United Inc. is seeking a Community Soccer Programs Manager to coordinate the organization’s recreational and after-school soccer offerings, including the Recreational Soccer Program, Global Youth League, and Summer Camp.

You will also support Community Schools and indoor soccer classes, supervise staff and volunteers, and handle on-site logistics. You will develop coaching curricula, deliver sessions, manage registrations, and ensure data accuracy while engaging families and schools

Qualifications

  • Strong conversational Spanish proficiency highly preferred.
  • At least three years' experience working with youth programming.
  • Experience in coaching soccer at a recreational level or managing soccer programs.
  • Familiarity with the South Bronx community or other neighboring communities is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and highly detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency with managing large registration spreadsheets, demographic data, and financial information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with adults and youth.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work in a variety of settings.
  • Effective in multi-cultural and cross-cultural settings and understanding of individuals of all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Community Soccer Programs Manager
SCOPE

South Bronx United Inc. (SBU) is a sports-based youth development organization that uses soccer as a tool for social change aiming to help youth build character, teamwork, and leadership so they can succeed in high school, college, careers, their community and beyond. SBU serves more than 1,900 young people annually through programming on the field and in the classroom, working to unite a diverse group of students, families, and the South Bronx community toward positive goals. South Bronx United is hiring a Community Soccer Programs Manager to coordinate recreational and after school soccer programming in the community: specifically SBU’s Recreational Soccer Program, Global Youth League, and Summer Camp, while supporting SBU Community Schools (after-school) and indoor soccer classes. The core responsibilities include supervising programming, supervising and training staff, young coaches, and volunteers on-site; delivering Saturday and after school soccer programs for elementary and middle school age students; and managing administrative tasks and youth registration necessary for the programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. 1.Operate and supervise community soccer programs, including the Recreational Soccer Program, Global Youth League, Summer Camp, and SBU Community Schools (school-based after school program).
  2. Coordinate an on-site recreational soccer program and league.Manage and setup equipment and facilities.
  3. Manage uniform orders and distribution.
  4. Communicate with parents, families, players and coaches.
  5. Support the implementation of special events including the annual Literacy Day, Health and Wellness Day, Play Proud, and Football for Equality events.
  6. 2.Train, supervise, and support the development of program staff, Coaching Corps (fellows-in-training), and volunteers.
  7. Manage hiring and placement of all community soccer staff, young leaders, and Coaching Corps fellows.
  8. Work with Volunteer Programs staff on volunteer training and placement.
  9. Set schedules and supervise coaches, referees, staff, and volunteers on site and coordinate coverage at various sites.
  10. Plan and deliver training for young adults in the Coaching Corps component of the Workforce Development Program.
  11. 3. Develop and deliver community soccer program sessions.
  12. Connect with partner/potential partner schools and serve as the school liaison for after school soccer programs.
  13. Serve as a soccer coach for soccer sites as needed.
  14. Further develop coaching curriculum and practice plans with support of Director of Soccer Programs.
  15. Implement the organization’s soccer vision and philosophy.
  16. 4.Collaborate with team members to complete administrative tasks and youth registration.
  17. Support the recruitment and training of coaches, referees, field coordinators, and other volunteer roles.
  18. Manage and approve timesheets for all paid community staff.
  19. Manage program registration, ensuring that processes are smooth for families and participants.
  20. Maintain attendance and registration data.
  21. Monitor program data and provide reports and analysis.
  22. Communicate with coaches, volunteers, parents, and family members regularly through phone and email.
  23. Ensure appropriate program systems are in place.
  24. Assist with securing field permits, equipment, transportation, and other logistics when needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

TIME

Full-time. During the fall and spring seasons, this requires weekends including a regular Tuesday - Saturday schedule.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Expected starting compensation is $45,000 - $60,000
