Job summary

Coquille Indian Tribe is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to promote safety and security across tribal facilities in Eugene, Oregon. Under supervision, you will patrol, respond to incidents, and coordinate with police and EMS as needed.

The role requires DPSST certification, a high school diploma, and flexibility to work outside in all weather. You will maintain logs, operate surveillance systems, and assist guests and staff while upholding tribal policies.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of professional security procedures including patrol, crime prevention, and incident identification.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safe and secure environment for the Tribal government facilities, its guests, and employees.
• Provides information and assistance to staff, guests, clients, patients, and the general public.
• Meets and greets guests with enthusiasm, demonstrating to every person that they are a valued guest and their presence is appreciated.
• Reports safety issues and hazards to the Lead and/or Facilities Maintenance Manager.
• Reports violations of Tribal law, unsafe conditions, and illegal criminal acts to police agencies as appropriate.
• Provides guests and employees escorts to and from Tribal government facilities when requested or as needed to ensure their safety and protection.
• Unlocks buildings and gates as requested by authorized personnel.
• Ensures buildings are secured upon departure of authorized personnel.
• Provides patrols of all Tribal government facilities and surrounding Tribal property as assigned.
• Maintains daily activity reports and head counts.
• Completes daily activity logs and prepares computer-generated reports for incidents occurring on Tribal lands.
• Operates security surveillance system.
• Responds to building alarms/alarm company calls.
• Contacts and cooperates with police and/or emergency service agencies in matters relating to the apprehension of offenders.
