Job summary

NHS Forth Valley is seeking a Registered Nurse (Part 1 of the NMC register) to join Falkirk District Nursing Teams to cover a maternity leave in the Community/District Nursing setting. Shifts are allocated across Monday-Sunday depending on service needs.

The role requires travel across the service area with a driver’s license and will include induction and clinical skills training. PVG scheme membership is a requirement and interview is face-to-face for shortlisted candidates.

Qualifications

• Wound management experience desirable.
• Catheter care experience desirable.
• CVAD management experience desirable.
• Experience supporting End of Life Care desirable.
• Understanding of Anticipatory Care Planning desirable (not essential).

Fixed term/ Secondment opportunity for 12 months to cover substantive post holders leave.

• Secondment Opportunity – Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager and complete the secondment request form prior to interview. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse (Part 1 of the NMC professional register) to join the Falkirk District Nursing Teams within Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership to cover a maternity leave. This role is based within Community/District Nursing, working over 7 days, with shifts allocated Monday-Sunday depending on service needs.

Desirable Experience & Clinical Skills

• Wound management
• Catheter care
• Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) management
• Experience supporting End of Life Care.
• Understanding of Anticipatory Care Planning (desirable but not essential).

It is essential that you are a good communicator and can demonstrate:

• Ability to work well within a team
• Confidence to work autonomously using initiative
• Willingness and ability to travel as required

Due to the geographical areas covered, the successful candidate must possess a driver’s license and have the ability to travel throughout the area to provide patient care.

The aim of the post is to focus on prevention, anticipation and support self-management to enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives at home within the community setting. NHS Forth Valley is committed to lifelong learning and will provide an induction period with relevant clinical skills training provided to successful candidates. There may be occasions where the post holder will be required to work within the treatment room in addition to providing District Nursing care and home visits.
