Job summary

ADP, Inc. seeks a Substance Use Peer Mentor to support patients in Allen & Neosho County, Kansas. You will identify needed supports, assess patient strengths and barriers, and help access resources to improve health and treatment adherence.

The role involves advocacy, paperwork assistance, and connecting patients to self-help and peer services, with emphasis on family and community engagement. Individual must meet recovery criteria and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Must meet Kansas Behavioral Health requirements and be self-identified in stable recovery for at least one year.
• Must pass background checks and motor vehicle screen.
• Must be employed by a licensed or certified SUD provider.
• Must be able to use a computer and perform word processing.
• Must have reliable, insured transportation if using personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Identify supports needed for patients and assist in accessing these supports.
• Assess patients' strengths and barriers, advocate for access to services.
• Assist with paperwork and connect patients to self-help and peer support.
• Provide education on the condition's effects and promote adherence to treatment plans.
• Foster community engagement and resource navigation.
• Coordinate with HCBS providers, ADRC, and other community services.
• Support patients and families in decision-making.
