Job summary

Centennial Mental Health Center, Inc. seeks a Community-Based Prevention Specialist to plan and coordinate prevention services across a 10-county area, engaging local colleges, agencies and community members.

You will facilitate trainings, perform need assessments and outreach to ensure referral pathways to behavioral health services, and collaborate with the Prevention Team to expand community impact.

Occasional travel and flexible hours may be required to meet community needs and program goals.

Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse communities and agencies in a rural region.
• Public speaking and delivering trainings/presentations.
• Flexible, able to adapt to new duties quickly.
• Ability to travel within service area and occasional non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities

• Establish ongoing collaborative relationships with local colleges, agencies and community members.
• Coordinate prevention efforts including need assessments, resource development, trainings and workshops.
• Deliver evidence-based prevention curricula within communities.
• Connect community members to resources and public benefits.
• Refer individuals to behavioral health services when needed.
• Maintain timely records and data collection to measure goals and outcomes.
• Attend trainings and meetings to enhance community consultation skills.
• Travel across the Center’s 10 county catchment area as required.

Certified Addictions Specialist / Certified Prevention Specialist II / Bachelor’s Degree
