Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Community Staff Pharmacist to join our interdisciplinary team and ensure safe, accurate dispensing of medications to patients in a busy hospital setting.

You will counsel patients, answer drug information questions, participate in immunization efforts, and collaborate with clinicians, technicians, and managers to optimize pharmacy operations and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Doctoral degree preferred.
• Massachusetts Pharmacist license required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required; knowledge of drug information and disease state management.
• Immunization Certification through an accredited organization.
• Working knowledge of inventory processes.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions accurately or supervise others in the process.
• Provide outstanding customer service and patient counseling in prescription and OTC areas.
• Dispense medications and guide packaging and labeling; answer drug-related questions.
• Contribute to department financial performance: sales growth, margins, inventory, payroll, expenses.
• Enter patient data to maintain files, charge system and inventory; perform immunizations.
• Participate in Quality Management Committees for quality and client satisfaction.
• Oversee technicians and workflow; correct information per protocol.
• Ensure all staff provide outstanding customer service.
