Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking an optometric physician to join their team in New Mexico. This role involves examining and treating eye diseases, providing primary eye care, and ensuring high-quality patient services in Native communities.

Qualified candidates must possess a Doctor of Optometry degree and an unrestricted license to practice. This position contributes directly to the health and well-being of communities served by the IHS.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
• Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry.
• Experience in developing treatment plans and prescribing corrective lenses.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat visual system diseases and disorders.
• Provide comprehensive primary eye care, including treatment of ocular diseases.
• Conduct emergency ocular care in various settings.
