Job summary

Central Lincoln County YMCA is seeking a community-focused professional to support healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility at a local community campus.

The role involves coordinating campaigns, managing client intake, building partnerships, and guiding staff and volunteers while upholding safety, licensing standards, and confidential information. CPR/First Aid is required within 60 days.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in a related field.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire.
  • Team player with superb interpersonal skills, able to work positively with co-workers and the public and resolve conflicts as needed.
  • Self-starter capable of multi-tasking, leading others, working independently and adapting to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
  • General computer skills with the ability to effectively learn and use new software.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with access to a personal vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and leads staff and volunteers in campaigns, programs and/or curriculum for the advancement of the Y while ensuring safety, licensing standards and the Y’s reputation and providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Leads staff and/or volunteers in providing quality, safe programming while adhering to all standards and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Manages client intake and conducts comprehensive information‑gathering interviews to assess client needs.
  • Builds effective, authentic relationships with staff, participants, and community partners and connects them to the Y. Serves as the Y liaison on collaborative community outreach initiatives.
  • Researches local, state, and federal services and assistance programs to determine the programs that are best suited to address individual client needs.
  • Oversees community navigation help line.
  • Ensures operations are safe and clean at all times, assisting the Department Director with staff and volunteers.
  • Supports volunteer recruitment, communication, development, and management.
  • Supports the Department Director in administrative activities, including tracking clients, referrals, data reports, conversations and developing reports for Town and County Administrators.
  • Maintains a database of community resource and navigation services.

Possesses oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for all ages and proactively communicates with coworkers regarding workflow, problems, and suggestions.

Work Environment
  • Work is performed at a community campus that serves all people.
  • Work is occasionally stressful and requires the ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines and cope with related pressures.
  • Campus facility is open early mornings, evenings and weekends; the job may require attendance outside of regular business hours (9 am – 5 pm).
  • Noise level is generally low.
