Job summary

Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago is seeking a Loan Originator to pre-qualify homebuyers, market loan products, and generate loan applications to meet annual production goals. The role involves direct outreach, counseling, and coordination with NHS staff to ensure smooth processing.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 2–3 years of outside sales experience in mortgage lending, with knowledge of Encompass software. Chicago-based, in-office schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Outside sales experience originating mortgage loans (2–3 years).
• Familiarity with Encompass loan software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Market NHS/NLS loan products to community leaders, businesses and customers to raise awareness.
• Originate loans, pre-qualify borrowers, schedule appointments, and submit files for processing.
• Provide homebuyer counseling and refer to NHS resources as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of NHS loan programs and industry standards.
