Job summary

Blaze Credit Union in Minnesota seeks an energetic Mortgage Loan Originator to initiate mortgage loans by networking with members, realtors, and builders, and to expand Blaze’s share of the market.

You will spend half your time outside the office pursuing leads, conduct pre-qualification interviews, assemble loan packages, advise on suitable products, and follow up to expedite approvals.

Qualifications

• Minimum high School degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years similar or related financial experience.
• Required to obtain or posses a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) qualifier (i.e. registration number)

Role: Initiate mortgage loans by effectively networking in the community and increasing the credit union’s share of the mortgage market.

Requirements

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses

• Minimum high School degree or equivalent.

Demonstrated Knowledge

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills including Microsoft products.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of encompass a plus.
• Previous sales experience a plus.

Communication Skills

Ability to proactively respond to members/employees to problem solve based on guidelines; written communications are based on templates but can be modified.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal employees and members on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

The salary range for this position is: $41,600 base (paid hourly) + monthly incentive plan for additional earning potential. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
