Dreaming Out Loud, Inc. is hiring a Market Clerk & Line Cook to support daily retail and café operations at the Marion Barry Avenue Market. You will greet customers, assist with product locations, process transactions, and help maintain a welcoming, clean environment.

The role requires flexibility for weekends/evenings, a focus on service quality, and adherence to food safety standards. Comp: $21.63–$22.95/hr; full-time on-site position in DC.

Qualifications

• Prior grocery or retail experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Familiarity with DC food safety standards is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers to enhance the shopping experience.
• Operate cash registers, process transactions, and issue receipts.
• Maintain clean, stocked shelves and ensure proper labeling and dating.
• Prepare and serve beverages and ready-to-eat meals in café area.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards in store and café.
